Protocols for St. Peter Cemetery

Saint Peter Cemetery is a private Catholic-owned Sacred Ground administered by Saint Peter Parish. Visitors and patrons are welcome through the year, during daylight hours only.

All flowers, memorials and decor are welcome and must be placed only by, around, the loved one's headstone or marker--within six inches, to ensure safety and beauty of the entire Cemetery--and, during spring and summer months, the efficient mowing of grass in appropriate ways and safe for our groundskeepers. Any strewn decor will be removed or placed back at the gravestone if possible, as appropriate. Visitors must stay on designated paths and should observe respect to all others and the Cemetery sacredness and utilize appropriate memorials. No placement of other stone or metal memorials, benches or other designs is allowed. No permanent changes may be made to the grounds,  unless permission is obtained from the Pastor/Administration of church. Any seasonal memorials are allowed to remain from one month of memorial day (ie. New Year's, St. Patrick's, Thanksgiving. Fourth July, Veteran's  Day, Christmas, etc.).  We ask all visitors to carry out any other materials brought in. Any digging or removal of grounds near any memorial or plot is not allowed, nor planting of flowers or plants.
Lastly, we welcome any financial donations to our Cemetery for the upkeep of these beautiful grounds. Our Parish is not liable for any damage or theft, removal or otherwise changes to any memorials left by families.
Also, it is important to know and realize that this is a public-private space, meaning St. Peter Church owns the property, and yet many persons near and far visit here, some passers-by and some patrons, as Cemetery Rd. is
both a public-private roadway, and general place of visit. While animals may visit either the burial grounds or roadway (as thruway)this should always be done in respect. All should maintain a sense of reverence and peace.
We welcome your visit to this Sacred Place!
